Ellington sky diving accident sends one to the hospital

ELLINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– State police are investigating what lead up to a sky diving accident on Meadows Brook Rd in Ellington.

Around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, police say they were called to help an injured parachutist. Police say the victim got struck in a tree. They were able to help the person down the tree and were then flown by Lifestar helicopter to Hartford Hospital.

Officers say the person sustained non life-threatening injuries. So far, they have not released the age, gender, or name of the person. They have not reported why the person landed in the tree.

Troopers are continuing to investigate.
