State police make drug arrests

Higganum, Conn. (WTNH) – Two people living at a house on Ponsett Road in Higganum have been arrested on narcotics charges.

Police say 32 year old Jesse Vernil and 32 year old Megan Vincelett both face a charge of  possession of controlled substance in the case.

During the investigation, troopers say they discovered some unknown chemicals inside the residence. Members of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the State Police Bomb squad worked together to remove the chemicals. Both suspects  have court appearances in Middletown on August 3rd.
