Homeless man in court on child sex assault charges

NEWINGTON, CONN. (WTNH) – A 52-year-old man who was arrested for alleged sexual assaults involving a juvenile, is headed to court on Monday.

Police say these incidents happened in a motel on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington between September 10th, 2015 and July 11th, 2016.

The Newington Police Department with the assistance of the East Hartford Police Department helped arrest Michael Pittman on Friday, July 22nd.

The East Hartford Police Department found Pittman, who is reported to be homeless. Pittman is charged with four counts of sexual assault in the first degree and impairing the moral of a child. Bond is set at $750,000.
