Judson Avenue, New Haven shooting under investigation

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  New Haven Police are investigating a shooting that has left a New Haven man injured.

Police responded to the area of 31 Judson Avenue at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday after a gunshot detection system alerted them to gunshots in the area.  When officers arrived blood evidence led them to 21 year old Kyle Hampton who had been shot in his lower leg and ankle.  His injuries are non-life threatening.

According to police Hampton told them he was taking out the trash when he was shot in front of his home and he saw two cars speed off but could not provide a description of the shooter.
