Water Quality Report

(WTNH) – The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection have collected samples from local swimming areas and beaches to check on bacteria levels. The weekly samples are then analyzed at the Department of Public Health Lab.

As of Wednesday there are three areas that are closed to swimmers. They are Gardner Lake in Salem, Squantz Pond in New Fairfield and Wadsworth Falls in Middlefield. All three areas will be re-sampled later on today.

All other state park swimming areas are open to the public to swim.
