BETHANY, Conn. (WTNH) — State Troopers helped to deliver a baby in Bethany on Saturday morning.

According to Connecticut State Police, around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Troopers in Bethany got a call from Bethany Ambulance that a woman in active labor was on her way to the troop and that the ambulance was on the way to take her to the hospital.

Soon after getting the call, Troopers say a minivan pulled into the parking lot. Two Troopers grabbed medical equipment and ran outside where they say they found the woman in the passenger seat in active labor. The ambulance had not arrived yet, but the woman began to deliver.

The Troopers helped the woman deliver a baby boy in the passenger seat of the minivan in the Troop I parking lot.

The ambulance arrived and took the mother and the baby to the hospital where they are reported to be happy and healthy.

Congratulations to the mom and baby and great work by our State Troopers!
