Police investigating shooting that injured 18-year-old

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Meriden Police Department is investigating a shooting from Thursday where they responded to 30 Willow St around 8:30 p.m.

Police determined that a shooting occurred in the area where shell casings were found. When officers first arrived on scene, there was no one located at the address. Police were notified shortly after by a nearby hospital that a 18-year-old gunshot victim arrived at their emergency room. Police are not identifying the male victim, but say he was shot several times and his injuries are non-life threatening.

Back at the crime scene, police also discovered a hand gun. A second person who was in the area at the time of the shooting was located and suffered an injury to the foot, according to police. However, police have stated it is not confirmed if that injury was the result of gunfire.
