CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) — A young, hearing impaired teenager from Madison was one of 36 young golfers selected to play with professionals at the Eversource PGA Tour Player Experience for Junior Golfers at the TPC River Highlands.

Eric Dillner, 13, says his love for golf came from how peaceful the game is. He was selected for the Player Experience after submitting a personal essay where he chronicled his experience with golf, and how the program will benefit him.

Many of the golfers who participated in the Player Experience not only played golf with the pros, but also attended private clinics, a Question and Answer session with touring players, and a dinner reception.

Diller said that the experience taught him a lot that he can use as he continues to play golf.

“Meeting the pros and learning things from them that will make me a better golfer was awesome,” Dillner said. “There was a lot of information and tips that’ll help me with my swing and putting.”
