NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – North Haven Police arrested two men after they say one of them tried to use a fake ID to buy items at Verizon Wireless, and then lead police on a chase across the parking lot.
Police say 29-year-old Anthony Middleton of New York City used a fake New Jersey license and pretended to have an account with Verizon. Police say he was trying to buy a phone and a bunch of accessories worth over $900, telling the worker to bill the victims account.
Police say when they got to the store on Universal Drive, Middleton and his alleged accomplice, 29-year-old Kristopher Simmons of Yonkers, New York, took off, trying to leave the area. Police chased them through the parking lot and eventually arrested them.
Middleton is also wanted in New Jersey. Both men appeared in Meriden Superior Court today.
