Public hearing on minimum wage to take place Wednesday

Minimum wage increases to $10.10 an hour starting January 1.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – The Connecticut Low Wage Advisory Board will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday about the minimum wage in Connecticut.

Lawmakers could tackle raising the minimum wage in the next legislative session.

Starting January 1, the minimum wage in our state will go up to $10.10 an hour.

Some people are pushing for the minimum wage to increase to $15 an hour.

Others argue that people earning more per hour will hurt job growth.

The public hearing will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Legislative Office Building at 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford.
