BETHANY, Conn. (WTNH) — A ferocious blaze that took three fire departments to extinguish on Saturday afternoon has been ruled Arson by the Bethany Fire Marshall’s office.

At 3:59 on Saturday afternoon, Bethany, Woodbridge, and Beacon Falls fire companies responded to an inferno that engulfed a vacant house located on 229 Bear Hill road. Upon arrival, the firefighters observed flames erupting from the front door and roof of the residence. Luckily, firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly.

Evidence from the scene during the initial survey prompted assistance from the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit and Major Crimes. The following investigation proved that the fire was set intentionally.
