Eversource workers injured while working on high voltage lines in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two utility workers with Eversource were burned Friday in Wallingford while working on high voltage lines.

A spokesman for the utility company says the workers were injured just after 3 p.m. in the area of 300 Highland Ave. Emergency crews responded, both workers were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Eversource says they are alert and responsive.

It is not known how the men were burned, and the incident is under investigation, according to Eversource.  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified, which is standard procedure for this type of incident.
