WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Starting Monday, you may want to stay away from Interstate 95 north in Waterford, as bridge construction will bring the highway down to just one lane.
Connecticut Department of Transportation officials expect heavy delays northbound over Oil Mill Road in Waterford for bridge construction. Highway workers will implement the 34-hour lane closures Monday night through Wednesday morning.
Drivers can expect major traffic delays. It is recommended that alternate routes are used during the closures.
Interstate 95 northbound will be down to one lane from Monday, August 22, through Wednesday, August 24. Construction will take place between 8:00 pm until 6:00 am.
This will happen again on Monday, August, 29, through Wednesday, August 31, starting at 8:00 pm until 6:00 am. The last phase of the project will happen in October 2016.
