Meriden police actively searching for evading driver after crash

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Meriden police are searching for a driver that has fled the scene of a fatal one-car crash Friday morning.

At 2:30 a.m., Meriden police responded to the intersection of Maple Avenue near Ivy Drive on reports of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the passenger, who has not yet been identified, had died in the crash.

Police spoke with News 8, and said that canine units have been requested to search for what they called an “evading driver”. No description of that driver is available yet.
