NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Not only has Christopher Cusano survived a brain tumor, he has also founded an organization that has helped raise more than $75,000 for the Yale Brain Tumor Center and is back at it this fall to raise more.
Cusano fought an 8 year battle with a Central Neurocytoma with numerous surgeries. He has defied the odds and has been given a clean bill of health as of this past May. Cusano and his friends and family have since worked on paying it forward to the Yale Brain Tumor Center, where Cusano was treated and cured.
Since creation of the fund, over $75,000 has been donated to the Yale Brain Tumor Center through concerts and donations.
Playing for the Cure: Brainstormin’ is the third annual concert for brain tumor research. It will be held on September 16th at the Stony Creek Brewery 6:00-11:00pm. The event will have food, music, and local brews.
Ticket prices are $35 for general admission, free for brain tumor survivors and warriors. Admission includes a $10 food truck voucher. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Yale Brain Tumor Center. “It’s where I was treated, I owe my life to them. Without them I would not be here,” said Cusano.
