Crash closes Route 72 in Plainville

PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — An accident that resulted in a car flipping and catching fire closed a portion of Route 72 East in Plainville.

Connecticut State Police say the accident happened near exit 9 at 10:11 Tuesday morning. The accident involved one car and minor injuries were reported at the scene.

Police have not released the name of the driver at this time.

A Department of Transportation spokesperson tells News 8 that the scene has since cleared.
