Man Accused of Stealing From Car

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)- Plainfield Police arrested a man they say stole an electronic device and gift cards, worth $1,000, from a car in the Moosup section of town. 

Police were called to the area of Collelo Avenue around 1:30AM on August 23, because of reports of a suspicious person. When police got there they say the man was running from the area. Police eventually caught up with the suspect on Brunswick Avenue near the intersection on Cottage Street.

Police arrested the man, 37-year-old Martin Olivera of Moosup, and charged him with Larceny in the 4th degree. Police say he stole an electronic device, and those gift cards from an unlocked car on Collelo Avenue. 

Oliveria is due in court on September 6.
