Man arrested for ‘white rock like substance’ in potato chip bag

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested a man in Middletown last Wednesday night, after finding a “white rick like substance” and his potato chip bag.

According to officials, police responded to a fight on Liberty Street, just before 7:30 p.m. Police located Christopher White near Pearl Street and Glover Place. When officers asked him to stop, he did not listen at first. White was ordered to stop again, and he did.

But then he became agitated, police say, and squared off into a fighting stance. Police searched White and found 8 individual bags of a white rock substance in a potato chip bag. White told police “that’s fake” and “it’s soap”.

According to police, White had previously been arrested for trying to sell “fake crack”.

White was charged with misrepresentation of a controlled substance and interfering with an officer. He is due in Middletown court on Aug 31. White was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
