West Haven accident leaves motorcycle rider with serious injuries

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – West Haven police say a motorcycle rider who was trying to beat a red light at the intersection of Captain Thomas Boulevard and Kelsey Avenue slammed into a car Monday night resulting in a serious injury.

According to police the driver of the motorcycle was traveling on Captain Thomas faster than the posted speed limit at the time of the crash.

The collision involved that motorcycle and a luxury vehicle. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of  the impact.

No charges have been filed in connection with the accident. The motorcycle operator is now in the hospital in critical condition with severe injuries, according to police.
