NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police were sent to 143 Blatchley Ave in New Haven Monday morning, and located a female bleeding from stab wounds.

Police were called at 1 a.m. to the house party where the woman was suffering from lacerations to her arm. The victim, 31-year-old Dominique Greenlee of New Haven, told officers that she was stabbed by another woman that she thought went by the name of ‘Champagne, police say’. She also told officers that she believes ‘Champagne’ is having an affair with her current boyfriend, according to police. While Greenlee says she never spoke with “Champagne’ at the party, only exchanging glances, she did expect there could be a fight the next time they saw one another, according to police.

When a fight did occur at the party, that’s when “Champagne’ started stabbing Greenlee with a weapon, police say.

Police say ‘Champagne’ left the party. They describe her as a black woman with a light complexion, standing about five feet and three inches tall, and weighing about 170 pounds. The suspect is in her late twenties and has long straight black hair, parted in the middle and was last seen wearing white shorts and a white top, according to police.

An arrest has not yet been made. Greenlee’s injuries are not life threatening.
