No injuries reported in I-95 tractor-trailer fire

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — Interstate 95 southbound was closed for a time in Norwalk Wednesday after an accident that caused a tractor-trailer fire.

Connecticut State Police responded to the scene just before 12:55 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The crash took place on Interstate 95 southbound between exits 14 and 13 in Norwalk.

The highway had been closed, but has since reopened.

Norwalk Fire officials tell News 8 they were able to extinguish the fire alongside Darien fire crews. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Norwalk police posted video from the scene on their Periscope account Wednesday afternoon.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
