Police investigate “slashing-type” assault in New London

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH)– New London police are investigating a “slashing-type” assault that occurred in the area of Prest Street and Connecticut Avenue Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:37 a.m., the New London Emergency Communications received a 911 call reporting a male with injuries. Police and fire staff were immediately dispatched to the area.

Upon arrival, officers loaded 50-year-old Guy Bryant who had visible laceration injuries in the area of his head and arms in addition to lower leg trauma.

Bryant was transported to the L&M Hospital in New London for medical treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition.

This investigation is still active and anyone with information is requested to contact the New London Police Detective division at (860) 477-1481 or anonymous tips can be submitted using the Department tips411 application.
