Three dead after early morning crash in Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH)– Three people have been killed in a motor vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Danbury.

According to Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, the accident occurred on Mill Plain Road, also known as Route 202.

Danbury Police confirm the accident happened around 5:00 a.m., Saturday morning. State DOT says the accident was cleared by 6:23 a.m. after being closed for about an hour and a half.

Boughton tweeted that the accident on Mill Plain was a result of a pursuit that began in New York.

According to Boughton five people were in the car and three died at the scene. The New York State Sheriff is ok and was taken to the hospital for further observation.
