Man arrested for distributing heroin following death

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  The death of a woman is Trumbull in August has led to the arrest of  a Bridgeport man on heroin distribution related charges.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut has charged 23 year old Jevaughn Watson with possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.   According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office the charges stem from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.

On August 18th a 25 year old unresponsive woman was found dead in a residence.   Investigators found wax folds containing suspected heroin & heroin residue.  Text messages were also found on the woman’s phone indicating that she had order heroin from Watson several times during the two months prior to her death.
