Man killed in Bridgeport motorcycle crash

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bridgeport man was killed in a bus vs motorcycle crash in the Park City, police said Thursday.

According to investigators, 40-year-old Luis Santiago was on his Suzuki motorcycle on Jane Street when he lost control and slid underneath a moving GBT bus that was travelling north on Noble Avenue. It all happened just after 1:30 p.m.

Police say Santiago suffered severe trauma to his head, neck and body. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

Four passengers on the bus were taken to area hospitals for injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening. The bus driver was not injured.

Police tell News 8 the bus has been removed from service pending a Department of Motor Vehicles inspection.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
