Tolland troopers expect closures near I-84 after car strikes pole

TOLLAND, Conn. (WTNH) — Troopers in Tolland are overseeing a road closure on Merrow Road, after a car struck a telephone pole causing the need for electrical repair.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Tolland dispatchers sent crews to the area of 609 Merrow Road after a car collided with a telephone pole. Troopers say the road was still open hours later, around 9 a.m., as they waited for utility workers with Frontier to arrive to conduct repairs.

Upon their arrival, Tolland dispatchers and troopers expect alternating closures and delays from I-84 into UConn Lane throughout their repair process.
