North Haven holds day of remembrance for 9/11 victims

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– The town of North Haven held a solemn day of remembrance for one of their own who died 15 years ago on that fateful day.

Edward Vanacore was a financial analyst who was at work on the 94th floor of the World Trade Center South Tower on September 11th. Vanacore was the youngest of six children and a 1990 North Haven High School graduate.

“A young man, 29-years-old, who had accomplished so much, who had a brilliant future ahead of him, whom we remember also today,” said Michael Freda, North Haven First Selectman.

There’s also a memorial set up on the front lawn of North Haven Congregational Church, with a ribbon for each life lost on that day.
