Hamden police search for man who stole U-Haul van

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are looking for the man who stole a U-Haul van from the rental agency in Hamden.

On Friday, officers responded to the U-Haul rental agency at 1685 Dixwell Avenue, to the report of a stolen motor vehicle. An investigation revealed that on August 21st, a man rented a $35,000 U-Haul van, with a crime victim’s identification, and has not returned it.

Police describe the suspect as a 5’9″ black male, who weighs about 170 lbs. and appears to be in his twenties. He was wearing a white tank top, khaki shorts and a black flat-brimmed hat when he rented the U-Haul. He also has a small tattoo on his left shoulder.
