Hartford Police investigate morning shooting


HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Hartford police are investigating a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning.

Police says they responded to 69 James Street at 2:13 a.m. Upon arrival officers located multiple casings, blood, cellphones, and a plastic bag most likely containing crack cocaine in the parking lot.

The 35-year-old male victim arrived at Hartford Hospital by private transport with non-life threatening injuries to his right arm and right leg.

The victim was unable to give a description of the suspect(s) and stated that he had no idea who would want to shoot at him. Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Detectives was notified.

Police recovered two vehicles with bullet hole damage. The operator of the vehicle that transported the victim was arrested for unrelated charges. Police say evidence on scene indicates an exchange in gunfire.

The Hartford Police department is actively investigating leads and are asking anyone with information that could aid to contact the information line at (860) 757-4000.
