Milford man arrested for DUI after failing to stop for police

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Milford man was arrested for a DUI on Monday after failing to pull over for a police officer.

Milford police saw a vehicle spinning its tires while waiting for a green light on Broad Street near Factory Lane on Monday.

An officer able to walk up to the side of the car, and tell the drive to pull off to the side of the road. Collin Webster of Milford turned his vehicle down Factory Lane, and instead of pulling over, passed another vehicle and continued driving.

The officer was able to keep sight of Webster’s vehicle until he turned down High Street and crashed into residential property.

Police suspected Webster to be under the influence of alcohol, and performed a roadside sobriety test. A breath sample showed that Webster had raised blood alcohol content.

No one was hurt in the accident and Webster was taken into police custody. He was held on a $1,000 bond and is to appear in Milford Court on Tuesday.

Webster faces several charges, including Driving Under the Influence, Disobeying an Officer’s Signal, and Driving without Insurance.
