MOOSUP , Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested a homeless man and woman Tuesday night after they were found passed out at a Cumberland Farms in Moosup.
Plainfield Police were sent to the Cumberland Farms at 12 South Main Street in Moosup after receiving a complaint of a man and a woman falling asleep at the convenient store.
At the scene police found 47-year-old Gina Mineau slumped over the wall outside. When they entered the building, 37-year-old Randy Valade was found sleeping inside what the company calls the “Chill Zone” with a milkshake in his hand.
Witnesses say Valade began falling asleep after he took 40 minutes to make the milkshake.
An investigation revealed that Valade and Mineau were in possession of numerous bags of heroin. Mineau was also carrying the narcotic pain reliever Suboxone without a prescription.
Both Valade and Mineau were placed under arrest. Valade tried resisting officers and had to be restrained before he was put in the police cruiser.
Valade and Mineau were both charged with Possession of Narcotics. Additionally, Valade was charged with Interfering with a Police Officer.
Mineau was placed on a $5,000 bond, while Valade was placed on a $10,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on September 27th of this year.
