Public hearings to be held over proposed rail fare hikes Wednesday


(WTNH) — Public hearings over proposed rail fare hikes to be held Wednesday.

The state’s Department of Transportation wants to increase fares on Metro-North’s New Haven line, as well as shore line east and on buses.

There will be two hearing held today in Stamford. The first hearing will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., while the second hearing will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Both hearings will take place at the auditorium at the University of Connecticut’s Stamford Campus.
