Registered sex offender arrested for enticing a minor


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  A New London man, who is a registered sex offended, has been charged by federal authorities with enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity.

The U.S Attorney for Connecticut says 39 year old Bryan White was indicted today by a grand jury on one count of enticement of a minor and one count of committing the offense while being a registered sex offender.

The indictment alleges that White in June and July 2016 used a computer, cellular phone, telephone and an internet-based messaging service in an attempt to entice the minor into sexual activity.   White has been in jail since July 5th.

In addition to the U.S Attorneys Office, Homeland Security, State Police, New London Police and authorities in New Jersey are also investigating the case.

White, if convicted, faces anywhere from 20 years to life in prison on the charges.
