New Haven police investigating after two teens shot on Lilac Street

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police say two teenagers were shot on Friday evening.

According to New Haven police, just after 6:30 p.m., officers were called to Winchester Avenue at Lilac Street after a nearby officer heard gunshots. Police say 911 calls reported two shooting victims.

Police say the victims are both juveniles. A 14-year-old male was shot once in the left leg and a 15-year-old male was shot in the left ankle. Neither of the injuries are life threatening. Police believe the victims are from New Haven.

Officers say that an unconfirmed witness says a white car, possibly a Dodge Intrepid with New York plates may have been involved.
