How a well-balanced breakfast can help your kids in school

(WTNH)–How well kids do in school is not just based on studying and activity level. Balanced nutrition is also essential for proper growth and development. On Saturday’s edition of “Good Morning Connecticut,” nutritionist Pat Baird explained how important it is for kids to eat a healthy breakfast.

According to the Dietary Guidelines Committee, 90% of kids 4 to 18 years old don’t eat the recommended amount of fruit and veggies each day. They also eat more than the recommended amount of sodium.

So how can you make sure your kids are eating a balanced breakfast? And what does a balanced breakfast consist of?
