Child driver collides with New Britain police cruiser


NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) – A New Britain police officer is recovering Sunday night after a car driven by a 13-year-old crashed into his cruiser.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Cabot Street. Police say the officer was responding to a call at the time.

Both the officer and teen have been released from the hospital. No charges have yet been filed.

The incident remains under investigation by their Traffic Division. Police are not releasing the name of the police officer or the child driver.
