Milford Man Arrested after Home Invasion

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Police in Milford have arrested a man they say was responsible for a home invasion on Hawley Avenue.

When officers arrived to the home, they say that 58-year-old Michael Buonaiuto was wielding a broken bat at another man. All of this happening on the front lawn of the home on Sunday.

Police say that Buonaiuto had broken into the home and wanted to harm the man living inside. The homeowner was able to get Buonaiuto out of his home until police arrived. The homeowner says that Buonaiuto told him several times that he was going to “kill him” using the bat.

Police arrested Buonaiuto and are charging him with: breach of peace 2nd, threatening 2nd, criminal Mischief 3rd, home invasion, criminal attempt Assault 3rd, and violation of a protective order.

The homeowner wasn’t harmed in the attack, but there was property damage inside the home.

Buonaiuto was released on a $50,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on October 11, 2016.
