MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Police have arrested a 34-year-old man who they say tried to hide marijuana in his pants.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, police pulled over Dante Pervis of Columbus Avenue in New Haven. Officers say they originally stopped him in his vehicle because of a motor vehicle violation. It happened in the area of Cherry Street near Sunnyside Court. Police say Pervis refused the officers command at the scene to remain still inside the vehicle. Police say that Pervis tried to hide marijuana in his pants. Officers say they found marijuana, a scale and packaging materials.

Pervis is now being charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering/resisting arrest, misuse of license plate, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
