Ask the Doctor: Fitness trends

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — In this week’s Ask the Doctor segment, we’re talking about fitness trends.

A new study out this week shows fitness trackers, like FitBits, don’t necessarily help you lose weight.

The study by the University of Pittsburgh showed that over a two year period, people who wore activity trackers lost nearly eight pounds, but people who tracked their progress on a website lost 13 pounds.

News 8 Medical Contributor Dr. Beth Collins sat down with Darren Kramer to discuss which fitness trends could be best for you.
