Uninjured accident victims critically hurt when struck by another vehicle

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Two women who were uninjured in a minor two vehicle crash in Meriden Tuesday night were critically injured when they got out of their damaged vehicles and a third vehicle ran into them.

Meriden Police say a Honda and a Chevy Impala were involved in an accident on the Chamberlain Highway shortly after 9:30 p.m.  The driver of the Impala, Cynthia Santiago  of Meriden and a passenger in the Honda, Feizi Wang of Cheshire, exited their vehicles.   Santiago was checking the damage to her vehicle and Wang was sitting on curb near the vehicles when a Nissan  being driven by Tyrrell McFadden of Meriden struck the Chevy causing it to run over Wang and pinned Santiago between the two vehicles and pushed the Chevy into a pole.

According to police both women are in critical condition at Hartford Hospital.    McFadden has not been charged at this time.   The accident remains under investigation.
