MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Students at Maloney High School in Meriden will notice extra safety precautions in place after an alleged threat was discovered Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon, school officials discovered a suspicious note that read, “school shooting tomorrow”. The note was found in the boys locker room at the high school.

Police say they determined that it was a 14-year-old male student responsible for the note.

Authorities say they are unsure of when the note was written, or how long it may have been there. Classes will go on as scheduled, but the school reports they will be taking the threat seriously.

While the threat is not considered credible, Meriden police will be working with the Meriden Board of Education to ensure the necessary personnel are on scene throughout the school day on Friday, September 23rd.
