ORANGE, Conn. (WTNH) – A West Haven man was arrested for bringing a samurai-style sword into a gas station.

Just after 2:30 a.m. Orange Police responded to the Cumberland Farms at 151 Boston Post Road on Friday, September 16, to a report of a person with a weapon.

Officers learned that Anthony Gray, 24, of West Haven, brought a samurai-style sword into the store and asked the clerk for a lighter.

When the clerk told Gray she did not have a lighter, he took one from a store shelf, used it to light a cigarette and then threw the lighter at the clerk.

Officers arrested Gray and charged him with possession of a deadly weapon and breach of peace in the second degree.
