Part of Route 6 re-opened in Andover after ‘serious’ accident

ANDOVER, Conn. (WTNH) — Route 6 is back open in Andover after a motor vehicle accident closed a portion of the road.

Troop K was dispatched at 6:20 a.m. Friday morning. Three vehicles were involved in the accident on Burnap Brook Road. One person was trapped in the crash. LifeStar transported one person to the hospital with serious injuries, according to state police.

Total Traffic and Weather Network in Hartford tweeted that both eastbound and westbound after South Street and before Highway 316.

State Police say the first two vehicles began to slow down for an oncoming school bus with its flashing lights activated. A third vehicle did not slow down and struck the rear end of the second vehicle, causing the second vehicle to crash into the first one.
