Stage 8 Presents: Conductor Eric Jacobsen Performs on 300 year old cello

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Greater Bridgeport Symphony’s conductor performs on a 300- year old cello on Stage 8.

Greater Bridgeport Symphony turns 70 in October, and has been providing art and culture to Bridgeport with seasoned professional musicians.

Eric Jacobsen has made presentations to Bridgeport school children, playing his cello and relating Classical music to the music kids enjoy today.

He studied at Julliard, is an accomplished cellist, and conducts around the world with famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma with his Silk Road Ensemble. He and other famed musicians will be performing Dvorak and Beyer’s Back at the Klein Theatre in Bridgeport this Saturday.
