Southington man in serious condition after crashing his bicycle into a utility pole

SOUTHINGTON, New Haven (WTNH) — A 44-year-old man is in serious condition after crashing his bicycle into a pole Friday night in Southington.

Southington Police say just after 2:30a.m. they were called to a crash on Savage Street for a report of a bicycle crashing into a pole.

Police say Steven Zavatkay of Southington was riding his bike down the hill on Savage Street in the area of Hacienda Circle when he rode off the road and crashed into a pole. Zvataky suffered serious injured and was taken to the hospital.

He is listed in serious condition.  The crash is under investigation.
