HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Drought conditions are forcing the state to declare a water emergency.  Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and New Canaan are all affected.  The company that provides water to those towns, Aquarion, will have to get water from another source.  Aquarion is also not taking any new customers without approval from the department of public health.  They’re in the process of identifying the biggest water users and giving them conservation tips.  Mandatory outdoor watering restrictions are already in place.  The order will be in effect for at least 30 days.
