online internet computer shopping

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s Friday and that means we are finding ways to stretch your hard earned dollars on Freebie Friday! As we approach the holiday season, more and more of you are going to be looking for deals online. You can get free shipping just about every time you shop! There are some tricks of the trade that, if you’re willing to take a few extra seconds to try, could save you a lot of money especially if you do a lot of shopping online.

Here’s a look at just a few ideas: Money Pantry suggests, you look for the chat box on the website on which you are shopping. Ask them for a way to waive the shipping costs. Many times they’ll do it!  Your chances are even better if you’ve had an item sitting in your shopping cart for a while. It’s all about playing the game!

Get coupons! is a great one to check out because it has a bunch of coupon codes for thousands of stores! Also, many sites have a minimum threshold to get free shipping. Stock up on what you need so you can get it for free. There’s also a great tool to help you reach that minimum if you don’t want to over spend too much. Websites like filler item finder dot com will help you on Amazon find an item that’s the price you need to just reach that free shipping minimum.

Get a subscription to a site, committing to something like that now may mean some upfront money but it really can save you big by the time the holidays come around. Sites like Amazon and Shop runner will get you free shipping. Walmart also has a Shipping Pass program that gets you free shipping and you can actually try it out for 30 days for free before committing. Cancel if you don’t want it.

Or, try buying the items that you need through a website that does have free shipping. Many of them have low minimums, if any. Here’s a list of stores with free or low shipping on our website So you can see what your options are.

And as always let me know when you see freebies or a way to help people save money so I can pass it on.
