All lanes re-opened on I-91 in Middletown after motor vehicle accident

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — All lanes are now clear after a motor vehicle accident left one lane is open on I-91 North after an SUV towing metal construction beams lost its load between exits 20 and 21 in Middletown.

Connecticut State Police and Department of Transportation officers were on-scene, overseeing the cleanup of the large, metal beams that were scattered across the roadway when an SUV flipped a trailer it was towing. Troopers say the accident was minor, but the cleanup caused some delays Friday morning. There were no injuries reported.

Around 5 a.m., traffic was flowing through the right lane. The left and center lanes were closed. DOT reported that all lanes re-opened around 6 a.m. Friday morning.
