The Home Depot, Kidde, and Local Fire Departments Come Together for Save A Life Saturday


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) –  The Home Depot will host “Save a Life Saturday” events at participating stores tomorrow on Oct. 1. The events will provide residents with fire safety tips to implement in their homes.  Participating stores are Norwalk, Fairfield, Manchester, Danbury, W Hartford, Waterbury, Enfield and Glastonbury.

At the event, you can learn about proper smoke and CO alarms, installing them, and more. There will be great crafts for kids to help teach them about fire safety as well.

In the Kitchen

In the Bender Kitchen, the Shelton Fire Department shares the first-hand importance of the smoke alarms and smoke detectors in the local communities.

The Echo Hose is one of 4 companies that make up the Shelton Fire Department. They have about 65 members in the company and 250 in the department. They respond to almost 800 emergencies each year. The company was established in 1882 and is 100% volunteer.
