Gov. Malloy celebrates Disability Employment Awareness Month, speaks at criminal justice conference

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Governor Dannel Malloy will hold a news conference on Monday to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness month.

Governor Malloy will join company staff and disability advocates at Walgreens Distribution Center in Windsor on Monday to celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month. The conference will emphasis the important role disability plays in workforce diversity. It will recognize employers who continue to ensure that people who have disabilities are valued members of their workforce.

The Disability Employment Awareness conference will begin at 11:00 Monday morning.

Governor Malloy will also speak at the New England Council on Crime and Delinquency’s 77th annual Training Institute Monday. Malloy will talk to criminal justice officials from throughout the region about his efforts to reduce crime and mass incarceration through plans such as the Second Chance Society reforms.

Malloy is scheduled to speak at the criminal justice conference at 12:30 Monday afternoon at the Hilton Mystic hotel.
